Indications
- Hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Angina pain
- Coronary heart disease
- Arrhythmias
- Compensated congestive heart failure
- To prevent heart attack
- Prevention of migraine headaches
- Treatment of certain types of tremors.
Dosing
- Adults: 50-100 mg daily
- Children: 1-1.3 mg/kg/day daily or in two divided doses
Adverse Effects
- Leg Pain
- Dizziness
- Tiredness
- Fatigue
- Skin rashes
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
- There is no risk factor for pregnant women and poses no problem for elderly people.
Precautions
- Atenolol can cause side effects. Avoid taking alcohol, which could increase drowsiness and dizziness while you are taking atenolol
